Windows 7 Multimedia Audio Controller Driver Missing

DeviceWindows 7 Multimedia Audio Controller Driver Missing

In my device manager, I have a notification telling me under 'Other Devices' that I am missing drivers for a 'Multimedia Video Controller.' I've been searching around the internet the past few days looking for a solution to this, but could not find anything.

I have two, 64-bit Windows 10 Pro VMs running on a Windows 10 Pro host. The host is a Dell Latitude E-6430.

Original title: Multimedia audio controller driver. I installed ubuntu but when i booted into windows the audio controllerdriver was missing. So i uninstalled ubuntu but it still doesn't work. I don't have internet on that computer so the system can't download it. Also, if the driver for audio controller is missing, you may use the disk shipped with the audio card or motherboard to reinstall it. Alternatively, you can also visit the manufacturer’s website, download the latest driver designed for your currently used operating system, and then install it.

One of the VMs rolled up just fine, but the other is throwing errors regarding the audio controller. The speaker icon in the system tray is marked with a red X. When clicked, Windows attempts to repair the error and fails. Device Manager does not show an entry for Sound, Video, and Game Controllers like the 'good' VM does, but rather an entry for Other Devices where the Multimedia Audio Controller is shown with a yellow triangle and the device status is listed as Code 28, 'The drivers for this device are not installed'.

I've rerun the VMWare tools update; first Repair, then Modify where I removed the device from both Device Manager and VMWare, rebooted, reinstalled, and the condition persists. I've tried manually installing the driver, but that fails with the message 'The installation failed because a function driver was not specified for this device instance'. References for this type of error harken back to Win XP and Vista days; I've tried what I've seen but nothing has worked so far.

Can anyone offer any sage advice?

Multimedia Controller Windows 7

In my device manager, I have a notification telling me under 'Other Devices' that I am missing drivers for a 'Multimedia Video Controller.' I've been searching around the internet the past few days looking for a solution to this, but could not find anything. The hardware ID for the device is 'PCIVEN_14F1&DEV_1B7A&SUBSYS_34440070&REV_00'. I have searched a ID website and do not see any devices which match this hardware ID. My computer seems to be working fine, but I'd really like to get that error notification cleared up.
Here is a link to my build just in case this information can help any that are willing to assist me.
